An AC uses the same amount electricity per minute, regardless of how hot the room is. The only thing that matters is the total number of hours the AC is on per day. You need to do some experiments to answer your question. 1. If the room is allowed to get hot, how long does it take for the AC to cool the room down? 2. If the AC is left on all day (and subsequently turns itself on/ off), what is the total amount of time it's actually running? Depending on your answers for 1 and 2 above, you'll know which is most efficient. |
